We, Caroline & Dave, are owned by a pack of seven Shiloh Shepherds (Gunner, Maggy, Lola, Aly, Brooklyn, Matilda, & Sierra). They are our pride and joy, and truly have become our inspiration for pursing work involving the greatest gifts of all - pets.
Our Shiloh Shepherds are the foundation of the Bold Canine Shiloh Shepherd breeding program, and have gone on to produce champion dogs in both Canada and the United States.
Gunner, our in house stud, has been a sought out stud dog in both Canada and the United States, with progeny now moving forward into the breeding program both within Bold Canine and other quality breeders (Checkmate Shilohs, Sterling Shilohs, O'atka Shilohs, Ocean State Shilohs, and more).
Our two current breeding bitches are Aly and Brooklyn. Both are Best in Show Winner's and Canadian Grand Champions. Brooklyn won two Best in Show's alone at the Brampton RBCSWO show in October 2009, and was the breed club Puppy of the Year in 2008. Brooklyn was recently named the 2009 Grand Victrix (top female in the breed) with both the TSSR Registry and the ISSDC breed club.
Matilda, who is our first grand-progeny, came from Checkmate Shiloh's and we hope will entered the breeding program sometime in 2011. Sierra (Aly/Gunner 2008) will hopefully also enter the breeding program in 2011.
Our Shilohs are very large Shepherd dogs and consume on average 2.5 to 3.0 pounds of meat per day. So if a pack like Bold Canine can feed 21 pounds of fresh meat a day, your smaller pack can too!
Previously under kibble diets, we had problems with some dogs not always being interested in their food, and other eating more than their requirements, or kibble left caked to their teeth causing plaque. But with the raw diet, there is never a worry as nothing is left behind, and has become a far easier means of weight management with our pack.
Our pack comsume everything from turkey, to ostrich, to rabbit, and fish such as herring or mackrel. The enjoy all types of protein sources, allowing for a well balanced meal plan.
With our breeding program, our puppies are raised on a raw diet right after their mother's milk. And although we do not mandate it, we strongly encourage our family's to maintain this natural diet for the well being of the dog. To date, almost every progeny from Bold Canine is maintained on a raw diet! |
